Inspection, Monitoring & Field Services
As a natural development from our 30 years of experience in inspection, NDT and testing services, we offer a wide range of specialised inspection and monitoring services to industry. In many instances, these are packaged around particular skills or specialist equipment available within the Intico group. The following services are selected highlights:
Corrosion / Erosion
We offer the latest proven technology for corrosion measurement and monitoring. Our services include Rohrback (RCS) rapid ‘B’ Scan systems with Hard Copy images and Panametrics Epoch 4 Digital ‘B’ Scan systems with data storage and PC interface capabilities. These systems are suited to a wide range of applications, from crane parts to pressure vessels and piping.
Using the Rightrax continuous array corrosion monitoring system, we provide a real-time measurement and assessment of internal and external thickness loss for critical applications such as in-service pressure equipment, where problems are known or suspected to exist. With such a system, arrays with up to 14 flexible transducers are permanently bonded to the component. Continuous measurement can be made through an intelligent data logger and data can be streamed to real-time systems for indication and alarming.
A relatively new addition to the Intico stable is the Lixi Profiler. This is a through insulation inspection system to monitor for internal and external corrosion or erosion. The Lixi provides accurate remaining wall thickness profiling of piping and pressure equipment.
Strain Gauging
We use the strain measurement techniques for direct stress measurement to support stress analysis activities, residual stress measurement, vibration analysis, and force and pressure measurements.
The results of strain measurements provide valuable information to support design evaluation, through the positive identification of overstressed regions. Stain gauge measurements are also used to support design calculations, for example, as required by Australian Standard AS1210 for design validation.
The scope of the standard strain measurements extends from cryogenic temperatures to 300°C using standard methods. Measurements at higher temperatures can be arranged for special applications.
Our strain gauging engineers are experienced with data logging applications and can package multi-channel systems to suit Intico can also undertake an evaluation of strain gauge-based transducer designs by analysing their sensitivity, linearity and frequency response.
Heat Treatment
Frequently, plant inspection and defect evaluation are closely associated with subsequent weld repair. When critical plant is down and needs to be back on line quickly, Intico can provide the post weld heat treatment services to get the job done.
In addition to providing in-house capability of electric heating systems, capable of PWHT of common weld repairs, we have developed a close alliance with a leading national heat treatment services provider. Under this alliance, our clients can obtain a comprehensive service without sourcing additional contractors. This reduces the lead times and cost, improves job coordination, and eliminates administrative overhead.
