Testing Services
From our numerous bases throughout Australasia, Intico provides a wide range of specialised technical testing services. These have been developed to assist our clients with developing, operation, maintenance and repairing of their assets. The list below highlights a selection of the testing services available from Intico.
Hydrostatic & Pneumatic
We offer NATA certified hydrostatic pressure testing for all pressure vessel and piping applications during fabrication, installation or during maintenance and repair.
Mechanical Testing
Our test labs provide a suite of NATA accredited mechanical tests, to provide compliance testing to all major Australian and international standards, including AS1554, AS1210, AS4041 (CB15), AWS D1.1, ASME IX and many others. The mechanical test service is particularly suited to:
- Procedure Qualification
- Welder / Welding Operator Qualification
- Production test pieces
The range of general tests available includes tensile (Yield / Proof stress, Ultimate Strength, Elongation, Reduction in area and Young's Modulus determinations); compression, bend, charpy impact. Specialised weld tests include nick break and fillet break. Hardness tests include Vickers, Rockwell and Brinell. Direct, on-site tests can be conducted using the versatile ‘Equotip’ or Microdur apparatus.
Proof Load Testing
The mechanical test facility can also provide a fully calibrated loading capacity of up to 50 Tonnes, useful for compression or tension loading for any variety of proof loading requirements. Factors of safety can be investigated by taking the component to destruction if desired. Specialized test jigs can be custom manufactured.
Material ID
Unfortunately, uncertainties of material ID or analysis are often issues in industry, leading to material being scrapped, or worse, a component being manufactured from wrong or incorrect grade of material.
Intico offers a highly specialized service that allows all metallic materials, whether ferrous or non-ferrous base material, to be quickly and efficiently identified. Our mobile spectrometer can measure all relevant elements including Manganese, Phosphorus, Molybdenum, Nickel, Chromium and many other elements required to accurately identify materials. We have a large range of primary and secondary standards to assist in performance verification. All primary standards are certified to the Bureau of Analysed Samples Ltd., England.
With the emphasis of traceability this gives you access to identify all your store stock or manufactured components quickly and accurately. Surface preparation is minimal, requiring simple removal of any oxidation or surface coating. Access to difficult positions such as inside a boiler or heat exchanger is assisted by the robust and flexible design of the measurement equipment.
Pressure Gauge Calibration & PSV Overhaul
Intico provides a complete service for relief valve servicing and hydro testing needs. Our facility can be fully mobilized to any location to service any plant shutdown, turnaround or periodic maintenance requirements. We can inspect, service, repair, test and re-certify all sizes and types of pressure safety valves and pressure gauges. Eliminate the need to remove pressure safety equipment from site for essential periodic maintenance and re-certification by having all testing and re-certification completed on site.
